Today I want to share my joy of being a part of an amazing international group of 21 creative artists. The group is called TEXNET 2 and the members live in Europe, Australia, Canada and the USA. We started our work together in 2018, after being invited by Juliette Eckel. We are going to present our fabulous project, a 12 months calendar, where we chose dates and our theme. The exhibition will take place at the EPM in Alsace, France in September 2021. I wanted to contribute with something from this part of the world, so my theme is « Northern landscapes. »

All my works are hand dyed, printed and hand stitched. Today I present two of my pieces in TEXNET 2. The others are from my latest summer solo exhibition. Hope you enjoy.

I am delighted to introduce a tiny part of the Textnet2 project, initiated by Juliette Eckel. We are an international group (Europe, North-America and Australia) of textile artists who have collaborated for two years while living apart and working alone. Many of us have never met each other in person. Our project is based on a 12 months calendar. We are excited to announce that the international Carrefour European Du Patchwork en Alsace takes place in September this year and the Nadelwelt Karlsruhe in May 2022.
it's done! the car is packed and tomorrow I´m leaving for the EPM 2021! In a few days our exhibition will be shown at the EPM and now it is time for me to say thank you to the members of TEXNET 2. Thank you for believing in me and in this ambitious project! I remember very well that at the beginning an artist, who later didn't take part, asked me what if it doesn't work. My answer was: if I don't try, I'll never know ... Some of the invited artists probably didn't believe in the project ... But then we started with 21 artists! The first few months were very exciting and new. So many interesting and so different works were created. It was a wonderful experience to know that all around the world you have been working for the project. Again and again I could see how surprised and touched we all were to discover the work that was shown. To understand what our origins and our artistic background make up for our work was always moving. At the end it was a very spec...

I am delighted to introduce a tiny part of the Textnet2 project! We are an international group of textile artists who have collaborated on a monthly basis while living apart and working alone. Many of us have never met each other in person. Juliette Eckel is the mastermind and leader of this group and has kelp us moving forward in spite of Covid cancellations. I explain my work and introduce myself bel: I’m wearing one of my wearable art dresses that has a bustle and neckline made from my grandmother’s unfinished Dresden Plate quilt pieces. My grandmother’s family came from Bremen, Germany. She was a prolific quilter. I am so grateful to be a part of Textnet2!  I live in California and met this wonderful group when they exhibited at EPM several years ago. They hoped to include an American in their international group of artists and I jumped at the opportunity. I am most known for creating wearable-art from damaged vintage patchwork that others might see as unsalvageable. I co...
