Invited by Juliette Eckel 21 female textile artists from 3 continents meet on a private fb-group for working together on one project. I am proud of beeing invited, too. Our first exhibition was sceduled for September 2020 and due to Covid19 now postponed to September 2021 during the Carrefour Européen du Patchwork in Alsace. My purpose was to study 12 female artists and their influences to art and to be inspired by their work. Here are two of finally 19 works I did. Photo 1: Dragon II. 15x15 cm and photo 2: Surreal. 15x15 cm. Two further works show the width of my textile artwork. Photo 3: Janus. 60x90 cm; Photo 4: Heute. 15x15 cm. https://www.facebook.com/barbara.hertel.71

I have always found working in a group with other artists to be stimulating, and it was with pleasure that I agreed to join the group "Texnet2" following Juliette Eckel suggestion. For more than 2 years we have been communicating on Facebook and getting to know each other better though our work. I am proud that this work will be exhibited at EPM in september ! I have chosen to represent vegetation through the seasons, sometimes in association with the theme of Women. The two first pictures represent my work for Texnet2, the next ones two larger pieces The nature that surrounds me, landscapes and History are my themes of predilection. I am also inspired by my travels and often use my photos in my work. I like to experiment, dye, print or bleach my fabrics accordind to my projects. You can follow me and discover my work on : http://www.chantalguillermet-artquilts.me

I became a member of international textile group "TEXNET" in 2018. Juliette Eckel, our group leader, was challenging to participate 21 artists of all over the world. Everybody was free to use any material/technique or theme in her work. We communicated via FB, this was a fabulous experience to stimulate our creativity! We hope to exhibit this autumn in France, Ste-Marie-aux-Mines and later on in other parts of Europe. The two first photos show my works: Shadow of the Past and Shadows of Ancient City, both using paper/textile mixed-media. Two others are my new creations: Urban Life and Slow Stitching Covid Lockdown, including up-cycling material. https://www.facebook.com/heikkinen.armi 36 Dagmar Plenk, Jana Lálová und 34 weitere Personen 13 Kommentare 2 Mal geteilt Gefällt mir Kommentieren

I was delighted when Juliette Eckel invited me to become part of the Texnet 2 group in 2018. It was a new journey to meet 20 gifted textile artists from all over the world virtually and to interact and learn from them, using Facebook. I am including 2 of my works for the exhibition that will hopefully launch at the European Patchwork Meeting in Alsace in September as well as 2 of my bigger works and introduce myself. My theme for our ‘Calendar Exhibition’ is: ‘Dancing through the seasons’. This is February: (15x15cm), when snow is most likely in Ireland. ‘Dance of the Snowflakes’ was inspired by The Nutcracker Ballet by Tchaikovsky. The month October: ‘Autumn Fairy’ from Cinderella by Prokofiev. I am inspired by nature and everything beautiful. Working with the medium of textiles is wonderful, versatile and therapeutic. My philosophy is to open people’s eyes to beauty and to inspire others to be creative. I am not a full time artist but use every possible minute to do what I adore: c

My March Rabbit image is a very special lady Naturally dyed silk, lots of antique lace and hand stitching. She is one of my pieces made for an international exhibition called Textnet2. I am delighted to be part of this amazing project which is a collaboration of 21 international textile artists. We are artists from Europe, United States, Canada and Australia and have interacted, discussed, planned and inspired each other via a facebook group since 2018 under the guidance of Juliette Eckel. The result of our project Texnet2, a collection of 377 textiles works. It was a joy to work on this exhibition . It was so wonderful to get to know fellow textile artists . . . who I have never actually met ! The pandemic canceled our chance to exhibit in EPM (Carrefour Européen du Patchwork) in September 2020, perhaps it will be kinder in 2021. ‘Say Rabbit for Luck’ It’s the first of the month.
